1. WHAT TYPE OF TECHNIQUE DO YOU PRACTICE AND WHAT IS YOUR OFFICE’S HEALING PHILOSOPHY?
We know that the body has an amazing ability to heal, and is capable of being a self-healing, stress-transforming being. What sets us apart is that we expect healing miracles to happen for each person that walks through our door AND we deliver fantastic results! We like to focus on all that is possible for you. You will be treated as an individual. We will meet you where you are at, based on where you are in your stage of Health and what your goals are. We realize that people are looking for different things, based on their life circumstances at the moment. We want to help you to get the maximum potential out of your body and your life, through a joyous healing process of self-realization and awareness. We help to instill self-trust in being able to listen to your body’s messages and the messages of life around you. Our goal is to not just alleviate your symptoms, and then pretend that you are healthy because you no longer notice them or understand the true causes. Whole health and well-being comes from a balance of physical, mental/emotional, and chemical interactions inside of the Mind-Body.
You will have treatment choices in our office, based on the depth of healing you are looking for. We love to offer you, when possible, a more comprehensive solution by helping your body to heal the cause of the problem, rather than just the side-effects or the symptoms. We do not believe in simply restoring a person to “status quo”, when we know that so much more is possible! We know that a healthier, richer life is a result of providing your body and nervous system with “advancing” strategies that strengthen and empower your Body-Mind.
Our treatment plans for each person is custom-blend of what we think will best help to serve that person’s health and wellness goals.

3. WHO BENEFITS FROM CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
We work with people of ages and from all walks of life. The truth is that everyone can benefit from Chiropractic care, as a healthy lifestyle self-care habit, like working out and eating healthy foods. People often initially start care with a concern/symptom that they want help with to heal, but you do not have to have anything “wrong” with you or symptoms to enjoy care. Even if you’re already eating right, exercising, meditating, etc., Chiropractic care will help you to get maximum benefit out of your lifestyle. Many people are walking around in a physiologically stressed state, and don’t feel it, or are used to it. When our body is in a stressed state (called “Fight or Flight”), the exercises we do and the food that we eat have less effectiveness than when our body is relaxed, or in a stress-free state. It is no secret now, to anyone, that stress is linked to most diseases and can even kill us! Many of our clients choose to continue care after their symptoms are resolved, because they start to love what great health feels like it, and all of the many benefits.

4. IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE APPROPRIATE AND SAFE FOR MY CHILDREN?
Absolutely. We are a family practice serving people of all ages. Our care is safe and gentle for everyone from pregnant moms & infants to elders. We use gentle, precise adjustments that are low-risk for any age group. Pregnant moms who receive chiropractic care report less back pain & common pregnancy-related symptoms and easier, quicker labors. Children who receive care are less likely to get ear infections and sick. This care helps people of ages to integrate stress with more ease, and this helps everyone to live a better life: physically, emotionally, and mentally.

5. HOW DID I END UP LIKE THIS?
This is tough question to answer, because our current health status is not due to just one thing, but an accumulation of our life’s events. Anything our body sees as too painful or is unable to process in the moment, doesn’t go away, but is stored in our Nervous System. All of these unresolved stored stresses accumulate over the days and years, ultimately causing an imbalance in our nervous systems and our bodies. We categorize stress into three main categories: Physical, Mental/Emotional, and Chemical.
-PHYSICAL STRESSES: the birth process, injuries, falls, sports, poor posture, car & bike accidents, chronic repetitive motions for our jobs and hobbies (computer work, reading, lifting, etc.), poor physical health, diseases, weight problems, abuse, etc.
-MENTAL/EMOTIONAL: anxiety, fear, depression, finances, family & significant other, friends, difficulty sleeping/relaxing, death, divorce, moving, emotional & sexual abuse, etc.
-CHEMICAL: drugs & medications (prescribed, over-the-counter, and recreational), poor diet, food additives & pesticides, tobacco, exposure to toxins and fumes, environmental pollutants, etc.

6. HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ME, AND IF I CAN FIT IT INTO MY SCHEDULE AND MY BUDGET?
The top 3 questions we get from prospective practice members are, “Can you help me?”, “How long will it take?”, and “How much will it cost?”
The best way to answer those questions is to come in and visit our office. You can always schedule a free 15 minute consultation. We find the answers to those questions by performing a thorough history and examination. After completing those steps, we will go over what we found, if we think we can help (or who can), how long it would take, and how much it would cost. It is a great time to start care, as our rates and plan options are very affordable now to allow us to serve our needing stressed out population in today’s economy.
You can call the office to schedule a free 15 minute consultation at 510.451.2719. To schedule a New Client Examination, click on the Hours & Scheduling tab and book your appointment on-line (you can also call)

7. WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO HAPPEN ON MY FIRST VISIT?
Your first visit will take about 30-45 minutes, on average. We will start the visit with a consultation, going over your paperwork, and learning more about you & your health history, concerns, and goals. We will then do a physical exam, during which you are fully clothed, learning more about the location and the amount of stress that is being stored in your body and your Nervous System, pinpointing the cause of your problem. We will then do our first gentle treatment; this will give you an idea of what care in our office feels like and it will give us an idea of how your body responds to care. At the end of the visit you will be scheduled for your follow-up visit. Your follow-up visit is when we will review with you what we found during your consult & exam, and make recommendations and treatment options (including time and cost) to best reach your goals.
